Don't forget the "fudging the books", "fudging the lab notes", "concealing
conflicts of interest," "spying on competitors", stock options
backdating, and all the other stuff that actually happens.

For the record, you can go into back issues of the journal _Science_ 2-3
decades ago, and--yes--the FDA caught a number of pharma companies
actually faking their test data!!! I kid you not.

Pharma political pressure, now, has the FDA basically in an "arm-lock" to
"approve" anything submitted and people become real live guinea pigs for
the final clinical trials, then if too many people start dying, then they
take the drug off the market.

There are books written about this, too.
