You must be getting some kind of "work performance review" once or twice
per year. Whatever you do, the indications on that should tell you one of
three things: i) all is MORE than OK with them, ii) all is just OK, or
iii) they are unhappy with you. Heed that messge. Also, pay attention to
the money flowing into the lab. Going up, down, or staying the same.
Calculate inflations. If going down, they will look for heads to cut off.

Now, the other side is: whether YOU are happy with them.

So, do you want to become a manager for bigger pay? Then, you have to have
more aspirin bottles, too.
