SQL Database Analyst

Responsibilities

=B7 Database Creation: Create and modify database structures based on
DDL generated from methodology tool or database package.

=B7 Software Installation: Install server-based applications software in
coordination with server administrators. Install new software,
upgrades and fixes.

=B7 Backup and Recovery: Plan, prepare and test backup and recovery
procedures for all production databases.

=B7 Implement and maintain multiple types of SQL Server replication.
Investigate and resolve issues associated with replications
conflicts.

=B7 Database Tuning: Monitor databases for efficiency. Reorganize
databases for optimal performance during scheduled down time. Create
indices and manipulate tuning parameters where needed to enhance
performance.

=B7 Capacity Planning: Calculate volumetric equations to estimate new
database sizes and plan appropriately for growth. Communicate plans to
server administrators.

=B7 Support: Support application teams and resolve database problems.

=B7 Participation: Participate in application development processes to
facilitate good database design and access techniques.

Job Specifications =B7 Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
in data processing =B7 Understanding of database development concepts
and applications =B7 Experience with CASE modeling tools and methodology
tools

Data Base Analyst 3 =B7 Four years experience in database analysis =B7
Experience with relational database concepts, methodology and CASE
tools =B7 Experience with multiple database platforms

=B7 Qualifications and Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Must
have in-depth knowledge + experience Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or SQL
2005 =B7 Must be strong programmer with T-SQL, Stored Procedures,
Triggers and Functions. =B7 Must have experience tuning and optimizing
SQL Stored Procedures, Triggers and table designs. =B7 Must understand
Data Modeling concepts =B7 Experience creating/maintaining star schema
data models a plus =B7 Must have excellent verbal and written
communication skills =B7 Must be able to work independently and as a
team player and adapt to role assigned =B7 Strong understanding of
enterprise integration patterns
